DJ Mizota

DJ Mizota
BRYAN MIZOTA
(DJ Culture, Beyond Zilla Records, Phonomental Music)

Dubbed "One of the most important scenster in the Hawaii Nightclub scene" (Honolulu Advertiser 5/21/99) Bryan Mizota is arguable one of the most diverse and successful DJs ever to come out of Hawaii. Throughout the 90's, it would be hard to argue that no one worked a wider variety of event than Bryan. Best known at that time as the go to DJ for Hawaii's "Surf Party" scene and the original DJ for events thrown by Soljah, Vertical Junkies & H3O for starters. He was also heard on Radio Free Hawaii's weekly Dancefloor Democracy along with Daniel J & Dave 'O Day. In the Industrial/ Goth scene, Bryan was the original taste maker for the Dungeon events that would go on to be the largest event of its kind in Hollywood. In the same scene Bryan began a collaborative partnership with Hawaii's most reknown electronic music acts, Razed In Black. Though already busy with several weekly club residencies and a successful graphic design business, Mizota's main music passion lay in the electronic spectrum. As a Promoter, DJ & Producer, Bryan, was one in a tight knit community of like minded people who worked diligently to bring Electronic Dance music to Hawaii.

In 2002 Bryan moved to California to work with world reknown DJ/Producer Simply Jeff running his highly acclaimed store, DJ Culture, which sees visits from the biggest names in the biz including Deadmau5, Tommy Lee, DJ Aero, Frankie Bones, DJ Dan, DJ Irene, and Kaskade just to name a few. Through DJ Culture, Bryan has produced several successful club events and has been a regular fixture in the ultra-competitive Southern California Dance music scene including DJing at iconic events such as Monday Social, Spundae & Insomniac's Nocturnal Festival.

Bryan is also involved in the operations of Simply Jeff's record labels, Phonomental Music & Beyond Zilla Records both behind the scenes and as an artist. With 4 releases on Jeff's Beyond Zilla label, in the first half of 2010 alone, Bryan's production's have already been heard spun by the likes of Donald Glaude, Charles Feelgood & DJ Shortee to name a few.
